Celebrating National Working Parents Day: How Iventis Supports Work-Life Balance for Employees with Children

At Iventis, we understand the unique challenges that working parents face when juggling career and family responsibilities. In honour of National Working Parents Day, we are proud to highlight how our flexible working policies foster a healthy work-life balance for our team members who are parents.

Remote-First Culture for Greater Flexibility

As a remote-first company, Iventis empowers employees to work from anywhere, offering unparalleled flexibility for working parents. Whether it’s attending a school event, managing daycare drop-offs, or simply spending more quality time with family, our remote-first structure eliminates the time and stress of daily commutes. This means our employees have more control over their schedules, allowing them to integrate work and family life seamlessly.

Michael Moore, Chief Technology Officer, said:

“One thing you realise very quickly as a parent: although it is sometimes difficult, frustrating and even heartbreaking, it is also the biggest blessing one can ever have. It also becomes very clear just how quickly the time passes. To me, it seems like just yesterday I brought my son back from the hospital, and last week he started secondary school. As each day passes, they become less and less dependent on you and it’s great to see them growing up like this, but equally sad that the simple pleasures we take for granted are slowly disappearing.

And that’s where a good work life balance comes in. I never wanted to be in a position where I looked back at my son’s childhood and had regrets about how much time I spent with him. Working at Iventis has enabled me to really enjoy his childhood without compromising on my responsibilities in my role at work. A combination of home working and flexible hours has meant I have been able to take my son to school most days for the 7 years he has been at primary school, and we have enjoyed many a good conversation during this time and bonded. This simple pleasure is now gone as he makes his own way to secondary school, but I feel so pleased looking back that I was given that time.”

Flexible Hours for Personalised Schedules

At Iventis, we recognize that every family has unique needs. That’s why we provide flexible working hours, allowing employees to design a workday that suits their personal and family demands. This approach enables parents to plan their days around important family commitments without compromising their professional responsibilities. Whether it’s starting earlier or finishing later, we trust our team to manage their time effectively.

Andrew Morgans, Lead UI Software Engineer, said:

“The remote working at Iventis is fantastic as a parent of small children. It means you don’t miss the everyday little moments as they grow up, when you would otherwise be stuck in a car during the work commute. The flexible working allows you to attend any events or simply cover school pick up as the need arises.

These days, many businesses are scaling back on the opportunities for their workforce to work from home. However, the approach from Iventis has always been remote-first and the benefits speak for themselves. The Iventis team is highly skilled, happy and motivated, and together we deliver world-class event solutions to happy customers.”

A Supportive, Tight-Knit Team

While working remotely, Iventis takes special care to cultivate a close-knit team environment. We believe that individuals thrive when their voices are heard, and we actively encourage open communication. Our leadership team ensures that each employee’s personal needs are met, offering customised solutions that align with their family life. Whether it’s additional flexibility during school holidays or navigating the challenges of balancing work with a new baby, we listen and support our employees every step of the way.

Sam Hustler, Business Development Director, said:

“I’ve been with the company since the start of August. The flexibility and support to be able to do my job and to help look after my little one has been a breath of fresh air.”

Why Our Approach Matters

For working parents, flexibility is more than a perk—it’s essential. By fostering a culture that prioritises balance and personal well-being, Iventis helps empower parents to succeed at work and home. We are committed to maintaining an inclusive environment where every team member’s needs are acknowledged and addressed. We believe that this allows them to contribute their best work while remaining present for their families.

Everyday, we celebrate all the incredible parents at Iventis and remain dedicated to building a workplace where everyone can thrive.
